TED Friend Control

Leveraging the TRACK-TBI infrastructure, the TED Initiative funded the TED Friend Control study that is enrolled friends and family members of TRACK-TBI patients to serve as a control comparison cohort. Citing a dearth of control cohorts in TBI studies, TRACK-TBI and TED Initiative investigators have developed comprehensive outcome assessment batteries, biospecimen collection processes, and imaging protocols to develop a rich control cohort. These study participants are friends and family members of TRACK-TBI patients that have suffered TBIs and undergo the same study milestones and cognitive battery as those with TBIs. Target enrollment of 300 Friend Controls has been reached marking a major deliverable for the study. Additionally, all study participants have progressed through the full 12-month follow up protocol. The Friend Control dataset is now being curated as study close out operations commence.
